Cathcart Rail, founded in 2016, has grown to be a leading freight rail services and transportation company.  We operate one of the nation’s largest railcar services networks, which encompasses more than 100 facilities across 26 states including a nationwide field services operation, 11 repair facilities and a rail services division that operates our short line railroads and a dozen switching/transloading sites.  We also offer railcar storage, track maintenance and railcar parts.

In June 2025 Tikhau Star Infra, who has been a valued investor in the organization since 2022, acquired the full interest in Cathcart Rail and is committed to supporting the Company’s ongoing growth initiatives.

Today, Cathcart employs more than 800 dedicated employees who help keep America moving across the nation’s critical freight rail system through our vast nationwide network of repair facilities, running repair agents, and short line railroads.
